The Father That Never Came Back

Student Participant
Wofford College
January 2013

I was told that I have the eyes of my father and the forehead of my mom. I was told that I’m short. I was told that I’m dumb. I was told that I’m smart. I live to look like my father and to think like my mother. I live to prove to them that I’m tall. I live to fulfill my desires. I live to learn what I’ve not been told but who am I? Who do I want to be?
