A Poem

“Me (In the African American Context)”
By a student from Huston-Tillotson; Spring 2010

I see me, but you also see me
I see me as strong and capable
But you see me as weak and feeble
I see me as having a rich heritage
But you see me as underprivileged
I see me as a survivor
But your see me as a destructor
I see me as smart
But you see me as stats
We both see me but is that truly me?
Is there more about me that I need to see
Is there more about me that you need to see
Who am I? and How do I find the true me?
