the bomb went off years ago
like radiation it has spread
throughout the land
over all the earth
disease and death it rings

but no mushroom cloud was seen
to warn us of the toll
it crept in unnoticed
to those left in the towers

it was all the groundlings
that suffered the same fate
for this is now tradition
this is what the fates have brought
going hungry every night is something they expect

so how to clean this mess
something must be done
but where to start
with this bomb, so nuclear
