Untitled

We feel alone among billions of people
We eat meals but never feel full
We are educated but we don't understand
And as people, we never feel whole.

And maybe if for just one minute
We didn't call them "others"
We could push past all the labels
And see the sons, the mothers.

My travels have shown me
A new world on earth
Where family is defined
But not by birth.

But if we could care
Because that's how we love
Then we'd realize humanity
As a gift from above.
